Vintage Ice Cold Bar Stool
There are thousands of Coca Cola Collectors acquiring items from Wall Mart or Target, like Coca Cola tins or plastic cups or copied posters. However, don’t think of these items as an investment as millions of copies were made. Many people are buying Coca Cola Decals and attaching them to just about anything they can market, but this does not make it a Vintage Collectible. There is a Coca Cola Club called the “Coca Cola Collectors Club” with 3000 members, the majority being “Vintage Collectors.” Back in the day or pre-1960, items were ornate. Coca Cola products were made from Tin, Porcelain and Ceramic. For instance, at a Coca Cola soda fountain, they’d pour the syrup in a Ceramic Urn, add ice and carbonated water. The logo on the Urn was embossed, making them highly collectible. Today- much of the memorbilia is paper, plastic or disposable. However back in the day it was made to last, giving reason why it’s still around and popular. Coca Cola knew how to advertize, putting their logo on everything, thousands and thousands of items like clocks, trays, thermometers, toys, lighters, calendars, signs, posters, coolers and Coca Cola Bar Stools ; all of which remain popular, because the primary color is Red and Coca Cola is a part of our Heritage.

Vintage Bar Stool
At first glance, the Coca Cola Logo catches your eye, however – there is another underlying reason your eye is drawn to the Coca Cola Bar Stools. That reason is Chrome, a thin layer of chrome, a plating of chrome on the object. Chrome plating is reflective, bluer, and more specular ( that is- a deeper reflection, less distorted, mirror-like) than other finishes. There are two types of Chrome, “Hard Chrome Plating” and “Decorative Chrome Plating”, referred to as ‘Nickel-Chrome Plating’. Nickel-Chrome Plating, involves electroplating Nickel onto the object, before the chrome. The Nickel provides the smoothness, corrosion resistance, and reflectivity. Most of what you are seeing is actually the effects of the Nickel plating, like when seeing the clouds in the Sky in the Chrome. Without the brilliant leveled Nickel Undercoating, you would not have a reflective, decorative surface. So it is, why our Coca Cola Bar Stools have such a beautiful reflective Chrome Base. A few years ago I traveled thru the Rocky Mountains in southern Montana, and stopped at a Road-side Cabin Cafe. Boy – was it lit Up!
