Powel Crosley,Jr. was innovative and inventive, with a curious and resourceful mind. He dabbled in making many products, a Tire re-liner and a Flag Holder for automobiles. In 1907, he built his first inexpensive automobile, the “Marathon Six” in Indiana, however his invention failed, for lack of appeal. In 1920, Crosley’s son asked him for a Radio, and being the innovative thinker, he purchased a book “The A.B.C. of Radio”, where-after he hit a “Home Run” recognizing the appeal of the Radio to American Folk.
Consequently his company began manufacturing Radios, becoming the largest Radio Maker in the world by 1924, using the slogan “You’re There With A Crosley”, proved to be an attractive marketing ad.
