Deep Burgundy Jalopy Pedal Car
There has always been rebellion in our culture thru-out the decades, or you could call it a Jalopy culture. Jalopy- denoting a poor, worn out, used, beatin-up basis for the medium or Art being used. Remember when Suede shoes were in, or take the Square toed boot – how ugly! There was the Afro hair style contrasted to the Dreadlocks of today and worse yet- the boys are training the hair to the center of their head to a Peak, while girls are shaving 1/2 their head and leaving the other half full-grown! The bell-bottom pants were quite the fade in the 60′s and today they’re so tight fitting- you gotta wonder how they get into them. If you consider Make-up applied – it’s not only applied in excessive amounts and colors, but think of the permanent coloring that has ruined the Natural body by Tatoos. All of this shares a common thread, that is they’re following a Trend. A trend is only temporary and leans away from traditional and classic values. Trend seekers are those that aspire to draw attention towards themselves, implying an insecurity. In contrast the Traditional look, style, or thinker rests securely in their choice that lives on and on; whereas the Trend is simply that and eventually dies out. You might say the Jalopy Pedal Car shares traditional values as well; being created from a simple basis, however formed and perfected into fine running machines with a sense of Pride in workmanship and creativity, Pedal Cars that have lived on thruout the last 80 years, leaving lasting memories.

Jalopy Green Pick-up Pedal Car
Jalopy is a term from the 30′s derived , from the practice whereby crop and plantation workers ran off to a local shanty club or “joog joint” known for serving up food, drink and music at rates that were inexpensive; more importantly at rates that the oppressed could willingly afford. These were the days of long laborious hours, when crop workers only made the elite more wealthy. About this same time Auto enthusiasts, nut-runners and gear-heads would find an ole beat up Jalopy as a basis to build a Hot Rod. This was again another sign of the times – as Americans could not afford something new, especially being the time of the “Dust Bowl” and the “Great Depression”. But Ingenuity and Resourcefulness would win out, when early mechanics would take a beat up Ford, a run down Chevy of the day, strip it down – and thru a lot of hard work, and attention to detail, could turn a bunch of sheet metal and an exhausted motor, into racing machines that circled the dry lake bed tracks for great week-end fun! Likewise with the Political landscape, we see and experience a political Jalopy scenario, where both parties are scrambling to make something out of nothing, or lets say when little resources are left, when surplus funds have been run-down that existed in the late 90′s, have conversely been compounded to a 15 trillion dollar deficit, Medicare has been ripped off to the tune of 716 Billion dollars, Americans have lost their life savings in Home Equity, while millions are without jobs, and those that can’t see clearly want to raise Taxes ? It’s fair to coin it a “Jalopy Culture” a broken down culture, a broken system when the only thing the Left has done, is shore up the Wall Street Banks – while in the face of it all, the regulations have yet to be fixed ! Truly, a Jalopy culture when so many want more of the same dysfunctional way. Today – you can help turn this scenario around by obtaining one of our charming Jalopy Pedal Cars, with oversize tires, large head-lights and chrome appointments

In the teens and early twenties, Ford Motor Company dominated the Automotive marketplace with its Model T. The market dominance quickly eroded, as General Motors caught up with Ford’s production, out-competing Ford in choices, power and convenience. The plummeting market share of Model T forced him to realize the Automotive market wanted a new Ford model.
