It usually has a fixed pumping “Cannon”, also known as a Fire Monitor, directed by the operator. A Fire Engine may have an on-board water reservoir, common among the Earliest Fire Trucks, allowing firefighters to tackle the fire immediately. Sometimes the modern Fire Truck is reliant on external sources, such as fire hydrants, water tenders, natural sources such as rivers, or reservoirs.
