Few things bring back more memories for those who were of age during the 1950′s than a good old jukebox. Whether the mere thought of one of the glowing machines makes you think about sitting around the table with your friends in a local diner after schools or taking to the dance floor with your high school sweetheart while your favorite ballad played, a jukebox has the power to evoke memories that you had thought were long forgotten. Therefore, for most, owning a jukebox means that you own a bit of history…a history that is rooted in simpler and more carefree times.
In its heyday, the jukebox provided commercial free music on demand, and allowed for people to shuffle through a vast selection of the contemporary songs to find just the one that they wanted to hear. This concept was a revolutionary one, and paved the way for future music technologies in many aspects. Teeny-boppers and adults, alike, flocked to these lit up music boxes that were larger than life to listen to the ballad or rock-n-roll tune that they’d been waiting to hear, and were more than happy to put in all of their pocket change to fill the room with the sweet sounds of Elvis or Patsy Cline.
Even though these magical music machines might have ties to the past for some, the younger generation is now seeing just how wonderful and unique owning a jukebox can be. Having one in your home might have once been considered old fashioned, but now these light up symbols of bygone days are highly coveted by a wide range of age groups. Something about them seems to fascinate us and bring out the child in us, regardless of how old we are.
Aside from its aesthetic appeal, there are a number of reasons why owning a jukebox is a wonderful idea. They make fantastic conversation pieces, they play a wide selection of music, and they are great to have at parties. You’re sure to find that having one in your home will liven up any party and complete any nostalgia collection. Though most of us are now straying away from these beautiful music makers, and purchasing digital players instead, there will always be a place for the jukebox in our homes and in our hearts.
Many of the jukeboxes that are sold today come equipped to play your digital music or am/fm radio, so you can get the best of both worlds. That Oldies Jukebox that you’ve been dreaming about, with its neon lights and chrome plating, can now play music from your favorite bands with crystal clear quality. Bring a piece of history into your home with an affordable and truly unique jukebox, and be the envy of all your friends.
